Jason Momoa is sure that Aquaman will be a part of what James Gunn and Peter Safran have in mind as they would take the DC Universe in a mostly new direction.

In an interview with Total Film, Momoa assured that the King of the Seven Seas would be included in future DCU plans.

“I absolutely think Aquaman will be involved in the DCU,” Momoa said. “It’s on, bro – there’s no one bigger than Aquaman! But, also, I hope people are excited to see the new one,” he added.

Safran is a producer on the forthcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, as noted by Jason Momoa, who also referred to the new co-CEO of DC Studios as “a good buddy.”

Jason Momoa’s Discussion With Gunn and Safran

During the Sundance Film Festival, Momoa revealed to Variety that he met with Gunn and Safran shortly after they took over DC Studios in the latter part of last year.

Jason Momoa said per IGN that Gunn and Safran will make one of his “dreams come true” shortly after the big DC news last year. Still, it’s not clear what dream Momoa was talking about. But Momoa hinted at a great meeting with Gunn and Safran by saying that he’ll “always be Aquaman” but that “there might be some other characters” as well.

Momoa’s latest statements to Total Film magazine hint that the actor still intends to portray Aquaman even if a different heroic character emerges. Warner Bros.’ “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” is scheduled to debut in cinemas on December 25.
