The dead body of a woman who was found in Battle Mountain has been identified as a Utah Woman who was a victim of a homicide and became missing in 1989. It was identified as Judy Manzaneras of Salt Lake City.

Utah Woman Found in Nevada
Human remains found in Nevada since 1990 were at last identified. It was a 19-year-old Utah woman from Salt Lake City named Judy Manzarenas who was a victim of homicide.
Hikers found the Utah Woman’s dead body in the Hilltop Canyon, about 13 miles away from Battle Mountain. The body was found in 1990 but until recently, the identification of the woman is still unknown.
Last June 2022, a much intensive investigation was made to determine the woman’s identity. The Nevada State Police Investigation Division and the National Missing and Unidentified Person System (NamUs) partnered with Othram Inc. technology, leading to the case’s progress. They tried DNA testing to establish a woman’s identity or her close relatives.
Based on further investigation, the identity of the woman and her cause of death has been determined. The woman’s cause of death is homicide and her identity has also been determined, she is a Utah woman from Salt Lake City.
