The police have described the crime scene as “very violent” and issued a statewide Amber Alert for the child, Taylen Mosley.

However, the police have not located the toddler despite following leads and searching nearby retention ponds with a dive team. The victim, Pashun Jeffrey, was found murdered in her apartment, and Mosley’s father has been named a person of interest in the disappearance.

Police stated that he is not in custody and does not have the child with him. The chief of police, Anthony Holloway, reported that Mosley was last seen outside their Lincoln Shores apartment with his mother on Wednesday evening around 5:30 p.m.

According to Fox13 Tampa Bay, a neighbor came forward to report hearing a commotion from the apartment on the evening of the disappearance, but police were not notified at the time. The family became concerned when they did not hear from the deceased and asked the apartment manager to check on them. That is when the police discovered Jeffrey’s body and the “very violent” crime scene.

Mosley’s Amber Alert states that he is “endangered” and was last seen in the area of the 11600 block of 4th Street North in St. Petersburg.

He is described as weighing 30 pounds, around two feet tall, and having brown hair and brown eyes. He recently celebrated his second birthday on March 12.

Neighbors have reported a significant police presence at the apartment complex as the search continues. The St. Petersburg Police Department is urging anyone with information on Mosley’s whereabouts to come forward as the investigation remains active. They have promised to release additional updates as they become available.
