Woke Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has suspended the primary prosecutor who tried a trans woman found guilty of abusing a 10-year-old youngster in the controversial Hannah Tubbs case.

Sources told Fox News that Shea Sanna, a deputy district attorney, was suspended after he claimed that Hannah Tubbs, a 26-year-old convicted child molester, was attempting to use her gender identity to influence the justice system, as evidenced by phone calls made from the jail.

Due to Gascón’s failure to submit a request to transfer the case into adult court, the Hannah Tubbs case went viral she was sentenced to two years in a child treatment center after pleading guilty to the heinous act.

In 2014, Tubbs, then 17 years old, sexually attacked a teenager in Denny’s restroom in Palmdale.

After being detained, she apparently started identifying as a woman, according to Fox News.

The prosecutor originally tasked with the case, Sanna, vehemently contended that Tubbs should have been prosecuted as an adult and attacked Gascón for being lax on crime.

Hannah Tubbs Case: Prosecutor Suspended

The Los Angeles Times said that Gascón received harsh criticism in the Hannah Tubbs case for his general policy that forbade prosecutors from ever charging adolescents as adults. When Tubbs was accused of abusing a 10-year-old kid in a Palmdale restaurant toilet in 2014, she was 17 years old. The crime wasn’t solved for years until Tubbs was identified via DNA.

When Tubbs appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on sexual assault charges, she was 26 years old and had a criminal history that included arrests for violence and assault. Nonetheless, Gascón adhered to his juvenile approach, and the defendant was given a brief prison term for the sex offense for the controversial Hannah Tubbs case.

Sanna was one of several political politicians and prosecutors who criticized Gascón’s handling of the Hannah Tubbs case. After the release of prison conversations in which Tubbs refers to the young victim as “flesh,” the district attorney subsequently issued an apology for the way the case was handled. Gascón then publicly questioned the veracity of Tubbs’ assertions of gender identity.

In a Tuesday interview, Sanna said that he used male pronouns to address Tubbs because he thought she was trying to get leniency by identifying as transgender. He also claimed that the suspension was revenge for his criticism of Gascón.

On Sanna’s behalf, the union for salaried prosecutors filed an unfair labor practice last year.

The suspension was the result of an independent inquiry into breaches of the county’s equality policy, according to Tiffiny Blacknell, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office, who declined to comment on a personnel issue regarding the Hannah Tubbs case.

Eddie Tubbs, the father of Tubbs, said in another Fox News report that the Hannah Tubbs case only got contentious because opponents sought to have Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon removed from office.

Since the incident occurred only a few days before Tubbs turned 18 years old, she was given a minimum sentence of two years in a juvenile center for females under Gascon’s regulations for suspects under the age of 18.

“They were trying to get rid of him, and that’s why that all got blown up,” he said. “Just because you don’t like the way somebody’s operating … you don’t go recall – that’s what you voted for.”

Before Tubbs could finish the Los Angeles term, Kern County prosecutors filed first-degree murder charges in the killing of Michael Clark, a Washington man who was 22 years old when he was discovered dead in the Kern River after being hit with a rock in 2019.

The trial for Tubbs, now 27 years old, is set for March 27. Eddie Tubbs, however, claims that the suspect has a history of physical and mental health issues, has been on disability since birth, and has never held a job. He said Hannah Tubbs couldn’t have killed the man because of her physical limitations.

Eddie Tubbs said that he had not seen Hannah in the Kern County jail due to the nine-hour travel.
