Man Charged In Case Of Missing Woman In Navajo

A national elegant jury retains indicted a New Mexico man on indictment and carjacking charges connected to the 2021 disappearance of Ella Mae Begay, a Native American woman whose lawsuit conveyed attention to missing and killed Native American people, prosecutors said.

Preston Henry Tolth, 23, was indicted on March 14 on indictments of invasion resulting in severe bodily injury and carjacking resulting in severe bodily damage in the missing person’s case of Ms. Begay, a lawyer for her family and the headquarters of the U.S. lawyer for the District of Arizona declared openly after the accusation was unsealed on Tuesday.

Ms. Begay, a Navajo professional rug weaver, existed 62 years old when she vanished from her dwelling in Sweetwater, Ariz. She has not been able to find it.

The analysis of Begay’s disappearance is a portion of the U.S. The Department of Justice’s exertions to address lawsuits implicating missing and slain Native Americans. Navajo Nation administrations had formerly recognized Tolth as someone of interest in the lawsuit.

 Investigation of  Missing Woman

Begay’s truck stood noticed the daybreak of June 15, 2021, departing her home in the remote neighborhood of Sweetwater in the Navajo Nation, not far from where Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado meet. Ella Mae Begay’s relative reported that her missing from her residence in the Navajo Nation.  The F.BI. said the truck was a gray or silver 2005 Ford F-150 and had a damaged tailgate.

“It was supposed that the truck may have been navigated toward Thoreau, New Mexico, and may have flowed in the path of Albuquerque, New Mexico,” according to the F.B.I. The analysis of Begay’s disappearance is a portion of the U.S. Department of Justice’s efforts to address issues implicating missing and slain Native Americans. Navajo Nation authorities had formerly identified Tolth as a person of appeal in the case.
