He gave up drinking and developed an addiction on a health beverage that acts like an opioid, claims the lawsuit

A Santa Monica drink manufacturer is confronting a class-action lawsuit that says kratom, a powerful opioid-like drug, is the main component of their Feel Free kava drink.

The lawsuit describes the concerns of a functioning addict who believes that the company’s marketing misleads him and explains how Botanic Tonics, the maker of Feel Free Wellness Tonic, advertises and promotes its item in California as a “secured, sober, and wholesome substitute to alcohol.”

According to Brett Schuman, the lawyer for Botanic Tonics, the lawsuit is without merit, and the business plans to aggressively protect the item in court.

According to Schuman’s declaration, “Botanic Tonics items are secure and processed, marketed, and delivered to the best requirements in the industry.”

The product is not marketed as being more addictive than coffee or sugar.
