Rick Johnson admits that he committed a bribe by receiving more than $110,000 during his time as the head of the medical marijuana licensing board (MMLB) and he has agreed to plead guilty.

Rick Johnson, the former head of a Michigan medical marijuana licensing board admits that he accepted more than $110,000 in bribes during his time as the head of medical marijuana licensing board over a two-year period.
In a signed court filing, Johnson accepted that he acted corruptly when he received cash and other benefits to many businesses and business owners secure licenses.
John Dalay, a business owner agreed to plead guilty by giving Johnson at least $68,200 in order for him to secure his license for his company. He even revealed that Johnson received other benefits including his private flights to Canada, according to the court documents presented.
Brian Pierce and Vincent Brown both business owners also plead guilty by passing bribes to Rick Johnson.
The public corruption is a poison to the country’s democracy according to Totten. Many agencies are linked to a modern-day gold rush and one of it is the medical marijuana licensing board a new borderline where participants can stake their respective claims and just maybe return big rewards.”
