The IRS stated in November 2022 that the lack of stimulus checks the previous year could result in “lower refunds in 2023.”

The government stated, “Taxpayers will not get an additional stimulus checks with their 2023 tax refund because there were no Economic Impact Payments in 2022.”

Many citizens of California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina who paid taxes are entitled to some kind of refund.

California

The state’s Middle Class Tax Refund will be distributed from Jan. 30 to Feb. 14 and is available to residents who earning less than $500,000 in the fiscal year 2020 and submitted their income taxes by Oct. 15, 2021.

Many individuals are covered by California’s flexible rebate programme. Those who claimed between $125,001 and $250,000 but had no dependents would be eligible for $200 in stimulus.

The maximum amount of $1,050 in stimulus, which also takes inflation into account, is available to married or joint filers in California whose combined income was less than $150,000 for the 2020 tax year.

Individual taxpayers will receive a rebate of $750, while joint filers will receive a reimbursement of $1,500. According to the Colorado Cash Back programme, everybody who hasn’t already received their stimulus checks or who requested an extension will get their money by the end of January

Idaho

In accordance with a $500 million statute that Governor Brad Little signed last September, taxpayers who filed in 2020 and 2021 are qualified to get either 10% of their tax refunds or $300, whichever is greater.

Illinois

If eligible, residents may be given two rebates. One is based on income, while the other is determined by property taxes. Based on claimed income of $200,000 or less for single taxpayers and $400,000 or less for married or joint filers, the rate of return on income ranges from $50 to $100.

New Mexico

Refunds to residents have already started to arrive in three batches, dispersed according to various payout arrangements. The deadline for filing a 2021 tax return is in May of this year, even though more than 2 million rebates had already been distributed by September.

Pennsylvanians

can get a maximum reimbursement of $650 under the basic programme, or $975 under the supplemental programme. The annual income cap for homeowners is $35,000, whereas the cap for renters is $15,000 per year.

Carolina, South

Individuals who submit their 2021 state income tax return before February 15 will start receiving stimulus checks. They are included in the $1 billion state rebate.
