The Social Security Administration confirmed that two batches of Social security payments will be released this December amounting to $1,755.

Social Security payments are one of the sources of extra money for millions of Americans. The Social Security Administration confirmed recently that the two batches of Social Security payments will be released this December amounting to $1,755.

The first batch will be released on Dec. 1 and the second batch will be on Dec. 30. According to an article published in Washington Examiner, $841 will be released during the first payment and $914 will be on the second payment. Meanwhile, eligible couples will also receive their Social Security payments. An amount of $1,261 for the month of December and $1,371 in January 2023.

The second installment of Social Security is higher compared to the 1st batch of payments. This is because of the increased cost-of-living allowance (COLA) due to the increasing prices of basic commodities as an effect of the increasing inflation rate.

Other Things You Should Know About Social Security Payments

Someone who lives with and provides care to a person receiving Supplemental Security Income will also receive two payments. The first payment is worth $421 and the second payment of $458 is to be released on the same day.

There are three months in a year that recipients receive two batches of Social Security payments in a month. The other months with two installments this year were April and September.

Furthermore, the Social Security Administration always makes sure that SSI checks on the business day prior to months that begin on a weekend or holiday to ensure recipients have the check by the first of the month.
