California Releases $5 Billion Inflation Relief Check, Will There Be Another Payment?

The Franchise Tax Board in the state of California has confirmed that it already distributed a total amount of $5 billion inflation relief check.

California is one of the states in the country that put huge efforts to support the residents who continue to struggle in meeting their daily needs. Californians have received a lot of aid from federal and local officials like stimulus checks and the Golden State stimulus.

According to the Franchise Tax Board, more than 6.7 million direct deposits and more than 2.5 million debit cards across the state since Oct. 7. Tax board Spokesman Andrew LePage said that the data on the website will be changed every week, according to a published article in The Sacramento Bee.

He also added that a total of 18 million combined payments will be distributed to the residents in state, both direct deposits and debit cards, by January 2023.

How To Know If You Will Still Receive A Payment?

You can check if you are still eligible to get another payment. First, check your e-filed 2020 tax return, next, received your refund by direct deposit. Then, consult your 2020 California Tax Return to re-verify eligibility before contacting the Middle-Class Tax Refund customer support line at 800-542-9332.

Lepage also said that the tax board typically mails out anywhere from 150,000 to 200,000 debit cards per day to eligible recipients except only during weekends and holidays.
