The Social Security Administration provides aid to United States citizens, especially those eligible for disabled or retired individuals. The most common payments they gave are Supplemental Security Income and disability or retirement pension payments.

You can receive both benefits monthly if you meet all the requirements.

Requirements for Supplemental Security Income

As mentioned above, among the requirements for Supplemental Security Income is the financial aspect of the applicant.

Other requirements are listed below:

  • Over age 65 or have a disability
  • Have a limited income or resources
  • A native or naturalized American citizen
  • Resides in one of the 50 states, plus the Northern Mariana Islands or the District of Columbia

Young children can also be eligible if they meet all the requirements for Supplemental Security Income.

  • The child should be below 18 years old with a physical or mental disability that limits their daily activity for more than 12 months.

What is the Schedule for Sending Supplemental Security Income Payments?

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities said the Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries would expect to receive a monthly payment of $1,371 for a couple and $914 for an individual.

The Social Security Administration always sends the Supplemental Security Income payments on the 1st day of each month except when it falls on a weekend or holiday. In this case, Social Security would send the payment on the preceding business day.

According to Abraham Quiros Villalba of tododisca, this year, the April, July, and October payments would be sent on the preceding day. Therefore, recipients would expect a double payment for March, June, and September.
