Zaya Wade, the daughter of former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, just opened up about serving as an example for other transgender youngsters in her first magazine cover shot for the Dazed Spring 2023 Issue.
“My name is a microphone. I am my unique individual, and I have my perspectives, but as a role model, I want to use my knowledge to highlight both the good and the problems in life because many LGBTQ+ youth are ignored in all respects,” stated Wade, 15 years old.

Wade’s stepmother, actress, beauty symbol, and campaigner Gabrielle Union, has had a significant influence on the young teen’s ideas about appearance and self-love.
The key is to be authentic and express oneself freely. Wade offered some advice from her stepmother. She tries to convince me that ideals of beauty are random and unimportant. They are irrelevant today; what people once considered to be ordinary is no longer valid.
Wade described her magical feeling when putting her first wig in place. It was a powerful and emotional moment for Wade as she could finally see herself how she wanted to.
“I believe my purpose in being here is to express those experiences, to speak them while also enhancing them. To let the world, know that “we are here, we are queer, and we won’t be going away,” she continued.
In 2020, Wade announced that she was transgender. Her father, Dwyane, broke this news to the world through an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
