Millions of American families availed the SNAP benefits to purchase their food amidst the soaring inflation rate. The low-income families were prioritized to be listed in this program to meet their daily needs. Despite this, many are still clamoring because of the increasing prices.
In Virginia, Virginia Department of Social Services (DSS) oversees the implementation of SNAP. The department automatically deposits the benefits every month which are sent out over the course of three days, that includes December 2022.
The Virginia EBT card can be used only to purchase eligible food items from authorized retailers in the state. They can be easily identified because they are displaying either the Quest logo or a picture of a Virginia EBT card, according to an article published in Go Banking Rates.

A SNAP beneficiary can use the EBT card online to purchase eligible food items and grab discounts or free services. Here are some services and stores where you can use your EBT and get discounts:
AMAZON PRIME
- Approximately half off the standard price of a membership, or $6.99 per month, is available to Virginia SNAP consumers who sign up for an Amazon Prime EBT Discount.
FARMER’S MARKET
- In order to receive a discount or a match on the amount of SNAP benefits you spend, look for farmers’ markets that offer “Virginia Fresh Match.”
MUSEUMS, ZOOS, AND AQUARIUMS
- EBT cards may visit more than 900 museums, aquariums, and zoos for free or at a reduced price thanks to Virginia’s “Museums for All” initiative.
RESTAURANTS MEAL PROGRAM
- In Virginia, the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP), which is accessible to SNAP beneficiaries, also lets you use your EBT card to buy hot meals.
