Check if you qualify for three direct payments boost and rebate relief up to $3,284 this April. Here are the 3 states sending out direct payments and rebate relief this April.

1. $3,284 in Alaska

Alaska offers a Permanent Fund Dividend each year. The amount for 2022 is worth a total of $3,284 with direct payments still being made through that year. Applications with the status “Eligible-Not Paid” belong to those who owe money to the state. According to a governmental announcement, people who receive such notice on April 12 and May 10 will, respectively, receive their money on April 20 and May 18.

But be aware that you can be in for a hefty tax shock. This is so because the PFD’s $2,600 value is deemed taxable by the Internal Revenue Service.

2. Colorado: $1,044 maximum

Low-income seniors in Colorado will start getting direct payments this month of up to $1,044 apiece. We may credit the Property Tax, Rent, and Heat (PTC) Rebate program for this. The Colorado address of eligible individuals must have been their home between January 1 and December 31, 2022. For single filers, the income threshold is $16,925, while for joint filers, it is $22,858.

Candidates must fulfill at least one of the requirements listed below:

  • 65 or more
  • Survivor spouse who is 58 years or older
  • Unable and disabled to work due to health issues
  • Paid rent, heating costs, or property taxes between January 1 and December 31 of 2022.
  • Not claimed on a person’s federal income tax return as a dependent

Remember that the PTC is distributed in instalments. For instance, those whose applications were processed or approved before March 10 will receive a quarter of their reimbursement the following month. For direct deposit, this will take place on April 5 and for paper checks, on April 15.

3. $125 for Virginia

“Five Back” is the name of a different refund program in Richmond, Virginia. This is due to the fact that the city is returning $5 for every $100 in real estate property tax that residents have paid. You must have had property in Richmond and paid your real estate taxes in full by the January 2022 billing date in order to be eligible for the cash.

As of the second billing period of the fiscal year, which ended on June 30, 2022, you must have been the owner of the property. For those who qualify, dividing their entire taxable property value by $100 and adding five cents to that figure will get their rebate. According to the city’s Department of Finance, “For example, a taxable property assessed at $249,000.00 in 2023 will receive a $124.50 rebate or credit amount ($249,000.00 / $100.00 x $0.05).

Instead, those who owe less than $30 will receive a credit toward their subsequent real estate tax bill.
