Trump’s attorney claims the former president made comments about his arrest past week relying on “rumors”

The former president’s attorney has confirmed that assumption motivated by “rumors” was all that went into his aggressive and baseless comments about his expected arrest the other week.

When Trump declared on his social networking site Truth Social that he predicted being detained on Tuesday in connection with the New York police inquiry linked to bribe money payouts to the pornographic film star Stormy Daniels, he set off a week of political, media, and law enforcement excitement. In expectation of fresh demonstrations by Trump fans, a few of whom committed the deadly attack at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, safety was increased at the Manhattan courthouse along with the district attorney handling the case, Alvin Bragg.

Joseph Tacopina, Trump’s attorney, has now accepted that his client started the disturbance based only on the assumption. Appearing on Sunday’s episode of NBC’s Meet the Press, he rejected Trump’s statement that he was about to be arrested to expose the statements’ weak justification.

Tacopina stated that the man “didn’t make it up; he was responding to several pieces of information flowing from the district attorney’s office.” There were many rumors that the indictment would occur the coming day. Thus, I believe he thought that was what would occur based on the leaks.”
