Ron DeSantis Fight with Disney is a Political Stunt says Donald Trump

DeSantis teased on a news conference Monday to build a new state prison next to Disney’s theme park in Florida pushing for new legislation to overturn the company development agreement. The agreement gives the company at least 30 years of the sole right to develop its land.

The ongoing feud between the Florida Governor and his state’s largest employer began on March 2022 when Disney’s then-Chief Executive Bob Chapek criticized against Parental Rights in Education Act limits the discussion of sexual orientation and sexual activity, gender identity, and dysphoria or transgenderism in Florida elementary school classrooms. The bill was signed by Gov. DeSantis and had the moniker “Don’t Say Gay Bill”.

Former President Donald Trump criticizes DeSantis’ efforts to maintain control over land and escalates the latter’s battle with Walt Disney Co. In the article in The Wall Street Journal, the former President used a derogatory nickname saying “DeSanctus is being absolutely destroyed by Disney”. Trump warned that Disney could stop investing in Florida and interfering with a private business had gone too far.

Trump vs DeSantis: Battle for Florida

DeSantis’s low-key visit to Washington was a closed-press meeting in a building near Capitol Hill. USA Today reports the invitation listed five GOP members of Congress as “special guests”: Reps. Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, as well as Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, Darin LaHood of Illinois, Chip Roy of Texas and Thomas Massie of Kentucky. The last two have already endorsed DeSantis.

While the embattled Republican presidential prospect seeks allies in the capital, Trump rained on his parade with a shower of endorsements from six Republican members of Florida’s congressional delegation. Trump boasted the support of Reps. Greg Steube and John Rutherford signed up within hours of each other Tuesday, NBC News reports. Trump VS DeSantis’s battle for endorsements from their home state Florida was behind the latter’s visit to Washington.
