In an attempt to “inflict maximum harm” on cartels crossing the southern border, former president Trump declared on Thursday that if re-elected as commander in chief, he will use American special forces and other military resources.
Trump declared late last year that he will run for president in 2024 and that the drug cartels were “waging war on America” and that it was “time for America to wage war on cartels.”
In a video posted on Thursday, Trump claimed that “Joe Biden has stood with the cartels and against the United States.” “The open border policies of Biden are a terrible betrayal of our country.”
When he suggests office, Trump said, “It will be the policy of the United States to take down the cartels, just as we took down ISIS and the ISIS caliphate – as well as, except for the situation we are in today, we used to have a very, very strong border.” Trump also said that the United States would have a very, very strong border. The “strongest border… in our country’s history,” according to him, was maintained by his administration.
To cause the most damage possible to cartel leadership, structure, and operations, Trump promised that if elected, he would “direct the Defense Department to make proper use of special forces, cyber war, and other covert and overt activities.”
