Officers responded to a domestic violence scandal near Parramore Avenue and Grand Street at about 2:28 a.m. Sunday. When they showed up, they noticed gunshots inside the house, according to Chief Smith during a news conference.

The armed person later left the residence and began shooting at officers at the scene, according to the chief. The accused ended up dead in police custody after police began firing, he stated.
