‘Young Thug’s Co-Defendant Agrees to Testify About Drive-By Shooting
An alleged criminal gang linked to rapper Young Thug called “Young Slime Life” or YSL is a wide-ranging indictment, the seventh man entered a plea against this wide-ranging indictment.
On Wednesday, the defendant Antonio “Mounk Trunk” Sledge, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the racketeering activity and to being a felon in a possession of a firearm. Cathy Russon of Law&Crime reported, Sledge has to testify in any trial emerging from the indictment he is not allowed to invoke his Fifth Amendment protection against his self-incrimination.
According to a published post by Law And Crime, in return for this, prosecutors will recommend he spend over 15 years on probation for the racketeering charge and then they will drop the firearm charge in exchange.
A prosecutor in court said that since 2012 Sledge was a YSL associate, he allegedly threatened a member of a rival gang, participated in a drive-by shooting, and knew that at least one associate of YSL murdered a victim named Donovan Thomas Jr. on behalf of the gang. A prosecutor said he and other members of YSL got cash from Jeffery “Young Thug” Williams to lay low and be quiet.

The rapper Williams is the best known of the 28 defendants thanks to his Grammy-winning rap career, he was indicted in May. Charges including one charge of possession of a deadly machine gun, are pending in Williams’s case.
The attorney of William who is Brian Steel told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution amid new charges in August that Mr Williams has no doubt didn’t commit any crimes. They cannot wait for a trial date.

The Prosecutors claim that Young Thug was a co-founder of the group YSL
Last week, his brother and fellow rapper Quantavious “Unfoonk” Grier pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a mix of time served and probation. Grier on the other hand denied informing on Williams.
He wrote on Instagram that “damn” people think he told on my brother smh with laughing emojis on his post. He said to show him in his paperwork that he told on anybody “lol”, he did not even Vienna entertain any of it, peace and blessings.
Grier cannot have contact with his brother until the end of the case as a part of the deal. documents state that If called by any party, in this case, they will testify truthfully, but reserve the right to assert the 5th amendment privilege against self-incrimination.
The names that are mentioned, Martinez “Lil Duke” Arnold, Winnie “Slimelife Shawty” Lee, Antonio “Obama” Sumlin, and alleged YSL co-founder Walter Murphy have also pleaded guilty.
Earlier this month, Sergio “Gunna” Kitchens took a plea deal known as an Alford plea. By doing an Alford plea, while conceding to punishment Kitchens maintains his innocence. In a statement, he defended that he did not consider YSL as a gang, but a group of people from metro Atlanta who had common interests in music and artistic aspirations.
