A Walgreens clerk in Tennessee reportedly called the police after a pregnant woman shot as they believe to be a shoplifter.
Pregnant Woman Shot for Shoplifting
Police in Nashville have issued a statement saying that at around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a pregnant woman shot by a team leader at a Walgreens in the store’s parking lot was in critical condition. The pregnant woman shot by Walgreen employee is now in “critical but stable condition”, identified as 24-year-old Travonsha Ferguson, at a nearby hospital.
Ferguson, the pregnant woman shot by Walgreens employee, is in seventh month of pregnancy. There was a need for an immediate C-section. No shots were fired in the direction of the infant, who is currently in critical but stable condition. Mitarius Boyd, 21, was arrested after allegedly witnessing the theft of stuff from the store and hearing from a coworker that two ladies were stealing it.
Boyd allegedly followed the women out of the business and into their car, where he confronted them as they were putting the stolen goods into the trunk. Boyd states that one of the women got a can of mace and began to spray him, prompting him to respond by firing his semiautomatic pistol.

Shooter No Longer Employed in the Company
Nashville Police Department said that Boyd believed one of the women was armed and contacted 911 after they had escaped in their car. The woman who was with Ferguson took her in her car and left her at the hospital. Police said they found multiple gunshot wounds on Ferguson.
The news announcement stated, “Boyd cooperated with detectives.” “Detectives have his phone and have taken his weapon,” she said. When police have gathered enough evidence, they’ll turn it over to the District Attorney’s Office, which will decide whether or not Boyd will be charged.
A representative for Walgreens confirmed that Boyd has left the company. Violence of any type is not acceptable and will not be accepted at our locations. The safety of our patients, customers, and team members is our top priority. The issue is taken seriously, and we are working with local authorities to resolve it, the spokeswoman added.
