Residents of South Carolina have approximately less than a month left to file their 2021 taxes to qualify for a rebate or a stimulus check worth up to $800 in the first quarter of the year.

All South Carolina citizens who submitted their 2021 taxes by February 15 are eligible for this payment. The South Carolina Department of Revenue has said that all beneficiaries will receive their refund payouts sometime in March.

Tax Rebate: How Is It Calculated and When It Will Be Arriving in South Carolina?

For persons with tax obligations under $800, the payment will be equivalent to the owing state sum.

If it rises over or stays at that level, the refund will be precisely $800.

People who filed before February 15 will get their refund in March.

Depending on the information supplied on your 2021 taxes, rebates will either be issued by direct deposit or paper cheques.

For those who submitted tax returns for that year, they may track the status online.

Who is Eligible

The taxpayer, The Sun said, must have submitted a request for an extension to be eligible.

Due to Hurricane Ian, this group will now have until February 15, 2023 to submit taxes.

You also need to have 2021 income tax liabilities in addition to filing.

People who filed state income taxes for 2021 and spent all or a portion of that year in South Carolina are eligible.

Washington Examiner said the SCDR had previously set a deadline of October 17, 2022. People who submitted their 2021 taxes by that date already got their refund by the end of the previous year.

You can contact 803-722-1958 or visit the Revenue Department’s website for more information about this rebate.
