New data shows a continued decrease in Republican voter registration and a trend of increasing independent registration in Santa Clarita and its encompassing electoral districts, giving local Democrats a slight edge.

Local conservative activists gathered Friday evening for a rally at the intersection of Bouquet Canyon Road and Valencia Boulevard to show support for Republican candidates in advance of Tuesday’s election.
