Alaska

Applications for Alaska’s Permanent Fund Dividend are being accepted through March 31. According to Alaska’s Department of Revenue, it will provide applicants with a stimulus check payout of $3,284.

Connecticut

According to the state comptroller’s office, Connecticut will start issuing stimulus check payments under its Premium Pay scheme in the next five to six weeks. The stimulus check payout which could total up to $1,000, should arrive between March 1 and March 11.

Applicants who submitted their applications by October 1 will get stimulus check payouts ranging from $200 to $1,000, with the maximum award of $1,000 going to full-time essential workers who earned less than $50,000. Every $10,000 that essential workers earn beyond $50,000 will result in a reduction in their yearly compensation of $800 for those earning between $50,000 and $60,000, $750 for those earning between $60,000 and $70,000, and so on.

The United States government provided citizens with a significant financial boost following the COVID-19 outbreak through a series of stimulus checks.

Idaho

In 2022, Idaho approved two tax rebates. The rewards are only available to full-year residents who submitted their Idaho income tax returns for 2020 and 2021 by the end of 2022. It also qualifies if you submitted a form for a grocery credit refund even though you weren’t obliged to file an Idaho return for those years.

The first tax refund of the year is equal to the greater of: (1) $75 per family member (i.e., the taxpayer and each dependent); or (2) 12% of the tax obligation on your 2020 Idaho return before credits, “other” taxes, payments, and gifts. The second rebate, sometimes known as the “Special Session Rebate,” is equal to the lesser of the following: (2) 10% of the tax due on your 2020 Idaho return before credits, “other” taxes, payments, and gifts; or (1) $600 for married couples filing a joint return or $300 for all other filers.

In March 2022, the state began distributing the first batch of rebates. Late September saw the start of the second series of stimulus check payout. According to the date their 2021 tax return was submitted, Idaho is distributing these to eligible residents. Paper checks will be provided after direct deposit payments. As long as residents file the proper tax returns, rebate payments will be paid through 2022 and into 2023. You can track your refund payments using an online tool provided by the Idaho Tax Commission.

Illinois

Another state that provided two tax rebates in 2022 was Illinois, which provided both an income tax and a property tax rebate. If you lived in Illinois in 2021 and your adjusted gross income on your Illinois tax return for that year was under $200,000 (under $400,000 for joint filers), you are eligible for the income tax rebate. You must be an Illinois resident who paid Illinois property taxes on your primary residence in 2020 in order to be eligible for the property tax rebate. Additionally, the adjusted gross income on your 2021 Illinois tax return must be $250,000 or less ($500,000 or less for joint filers).

Your filing status and the number of dependents you list on your 2021 Illinois tax return will determine how much of an income tax rebate you receive. For every eligible resident, there is a $50 rebate ($100 for married couples who filed joint returns), plus $100 for each dependent up to a maximum of three. The property tax rebate is limited to $300 and is equivalent to the property tax credit you claimed on your 2021 Illinois tax return.

In September, the state began distributing rebate payments. However, it will likely take some time before all payments are made. You can track your rebates using an online tool provided by the Illinois Department of Revenue.

Two Illinois tax rebates were available during 2022 – an individual income tax rebate and a property tax rebate. (Those one-time payments have sometimes been referred to as Illinois "stimulus checks").

Maine

On Monday, January 30, the Maine Revenue Services distributed 5,000 checks totaling $450, and continuing ahead, they’ll distribute an estimated 200,000 payments weekly.

Those who filed by October 31 of last year and fit one of the following criteria were eligible for these stimulus check payouts:

  • A single filer making under $100,000 a year
  • Head of a family earning less than $150,000 a year
  • Joint filers making less than $200,000 a year

Recipients can check the status of their relief checks on a portal provided by the state revenue service.

South Carolina

If you submit your 2021 South Carolina income tax return before February 15, 2023, and you owe state income tax for the 2021 tax year, you are entitled for a tax refund (i.e., you have a state tax liability). Keep in mind that the initial deadline for filing was October 17, 2022. In order to allow Hurricane Ian-affected South Carolinians additional time to submit, it was postponed to February 15.

Your South Carolina income tax liability for 2021, less any credits, will serve as the basis for the rebate amount. However, the reimbursement amount is limited to $800.
