A South Carolina man was arrested after a mother and her newborn baby were found dead in a Greenville County home.

South Carolina Man Accused of Killing the Woman

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said that the South Carolina man Tyler Wilkins, 21 years old, was charged with murder after his newborn baby and the baby’s mother were found dead. He was immediately arrested and it was found that he was involved with another woman who went missing in 2020.

In a report published in FOX Carolina, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said that the South Carolina man confined the woman, 22-year-old Clarrissa Michelle Winchester, inside a relative’s home and beaten her. Blunt force trauma to her neck and head was found.

Deputies arrived at the scene at the 200 block of Saw Mill Road Wednesday night after they received a call about a missing woman and they found the body of the woman and her baby. However, they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Charges Filed Against the South Carolina Man

The South Carolina man will be facing different charges such as murder for the death of the woman, kidnapping, and neglect for allegedly did not get or ask help for his baby boy after he was born, according to a recently published report in The New York Post.

Meanwhile, it was found that the South Carolina man was previously arrested on different charges and these are the following:

  • attempted murder
  • domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature
  • possession of a weapon during a violent crime
  • threatening the life of an official
  • drug possession
  • throwing bodily fluids

The South Carolina man was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center where he awaits bond.
