South Carolina Tax Rebate Update
In Columbia, South Carolina, the Department of Revenue said it completed issuing 2022 individual income tax refunds for qualified taxpayers who filed returns by October 17, 2022. In 4 weeks, 1.39 million rebates via direct deposits and paper checks were issued, according to SCDOR. So far, over $942 million have totaled.
According to a published post by WYFF 4, though 1st batch has been issued, however, depends on bank and mail processing some qualified taxpayers may not have received their rebates yet. Qualified taxpayers who filed or will file their 2021 income tax return between October 18, 2022, and February 15, 2023, will obtain their rebates in March 2023.
If submitted by October 17th and have not received a rebate:
– Make sure to have a tax liability. Otherwise, you’re not eligible to receive a rebate.
– Check status online. Visit: dor.sc.gov/rebate-2022 to get started. You’ll need your SSN or ITIN and line 10 from the 2021 SC Individual Income Tax Return(SC1040).
– If not received your rebate and the online tool shows that your refund has been issued, please wait 30 days after the issued date, then complete and submit the SC3911, Individual Income Tax

– Complete and submit the SC8822I, Change of Address for Individuals if you have not yet received your rebate check due to a change of address.
Please note: Your bank has its procedures that may affect when direct deposits become available on your account. Most rebates were sent by direct deposit, but those issued as mailed checks take longer to receive.
