SNAP Replacement Application Explained
Marca explained that SNAP, which is administered by the US Department of Agriculture, is a welfare program that gives qualified families a monthly cash infusion through an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Card to help them buy groceries and other food products.
Over 26 million Americans, or about 12 percent of the country’s population, are thought to rely on SNAP payments to help them achieve their nutritional needs.
When a natural catastrophe has a direct influence on the quality of the food purchased with an EBT, the amount of SNAP benefits obtained may be replaced.
SNAP benefits replacement is often given to those whose loss of electricity affected their ability to buy food.
The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) will collaborate with the regional public service offices to ascertain if a specific region of the province was impacted by a power outage for more than 24 hours in order to evaluate eligibility for Replacement SNAP payments.

When is the Deadline For Monroe County Residents
The application must be submitted by April 24, WCBI underscored. Those who are applying for SNAP benefits replacement have two options for doing this: online or in person at the county department of human services.
This will replace any food that went bad during the power outages and will serve as a storm-related benefit.
The SNAP benefits replacement is only applicable for those in Monroe County. The Montgomery County population will have it automatically added.
