“Sleeper case”: According to experts, a Trump prosecution in Manhattan is “impending” and “pardon-proof”

As per several sources, the Manhattan district attorney’s office warned the administration of former President Donald Trump that he might be charged with a crime for his involvement in the pay of secret money to Stormy Daniels.

In the “greatest sign yet that prosecution is fast approaching an investigation of the former president,” The New York Times claimed on Thursday that the prosecution allowed Trump to provide evidence once the jury hearing proof in the case. The newspaper added that such offers “most often suggest an investigation is close.”

Trump is doubtful to speak, but his attorneys might attempt to communicate with prosecutors to avoid being charged with a crime, according to the source.

A conviction in the case might be the first ever for a former president, and it might ruin Trump’s political career.

The $130,000 bribe money payout that former Trump fixer Michael Cohen made to Stormy Daniels throughout the 2016 campaign to hide her supposed affair with Trump is the current focus of the Manhattan inquiry, which has continued for almost 5 years. Cohen said that Trump paid him back for the payment; Cohen later pled guilty to federal campaign finance crimes related to the plan.

Trump has frequently referred to the inquiry as a “witch hunt” with political aspects and charged that the Black district attorney, Alvin Bragg, is prejudiced against him.
