P-EBT this Week

The Pandemic-Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) has been a big help to millions of families across the country. It helps to meet the daily needs of struggling families who could no longer buy and afford to purchase nutritious food due to the impact of the pandemic and the increasing inflation rate.

The state of Nebraska recently announced that its residents who are recipients of the P-EBT will receive their payments this week, according to an article published on the website of Fremont Tribune.

Implementation of P-EBT

As a result of the COVID-19 public health emergency, Nebraska households with school-age children who qualified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2022–2023 academic year and who temporarily lost access to meals at school as well as children under the age of six who received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will receive Summer Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) benefits.

Meanwhile, children in daycare will receive 2022 Summer P-EBT payments on December 8, while students in the Omaha Metro Area and the rest of the state will get benefits on December 13 and December 15, respectively. The USDA’s P-EBT program offers cash rewards on an EBT card that may be used to buy food.
