Through the Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, Governor Ron DeSantis delivered over $35 million to 48 Florida communities for infrastructure upgrades, commercial and neighborhood redevelopment, housing rehabilitation, and economic development.

Governor Ron DeSantis stated, “Investing in our small communities helps build possibilities for future generations.  I am honored to present these awards to 48 communities to support their efforts to develop their local economies and communities.”

According to Secretary of Economic Opportunity Dane Eagle, “DEO is happy to assist Governor DeSantis’ commitment to enhancing economic stability and development by working hand in hand with Florida communities.” “Today’s awards will have a major impact on Florida communities, and we expect these projects will benefit Florida households,” the statement says.

The Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and managed by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), offers funds for housing and community development projects.
