On AP African American History Course, Florida Democrat Agrees with DeSantis: “I Believe it’s Rubbish”

Black Democrat and Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor concurred with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis the previous week that the suggested AP African American history course, which the state’s Department of Education dismissed, is propaganda instead of an acceptable course of study. DeSantis disallowed the training on the basis that it violated the Stop WOKE Act, which was introduced the previous year in the Sunshine State.

Regarding the curriculum, Proctor remarked, “I think it’s rubbish.”

As per Tallahassee Reports, he said, “There is great worry about the attitude and tone of leadership’s voice as from highest levels in our state being unfriendly to the education of African American history.”

“Sincerely, I disagree with the College Board’s curriculum. It’s junk, in my opinion. It’s not the history of African Americans. It’s an ideology “Proctor added.

“I’ve taught African American history and designed curriculum for the subject. African American history is who I am. And when it comes to the fight for freedom, equality, and justice, there hasn’t been any conflict between queerness and feminist theory at all “He debated.

Critical race theory is criticized for being grounded in Marxism, demoralizing Black students by teaching them the belief that success is unachievable, and criticizing White students as being naturally racist and the recipients of an oppressive system.

Throughout his career, DeSantis has continuously opposed CRT and used the authority of his position to get it removed from the syllabus of universities, government agencies, and schools.
