Ohio Police Report: A woman from Eaton, Ohio, who confessed to killing her 93-year-old grandma in the kitchen sink and turned herself in, will reportedly be punished next week after pleading guilty to murder.

According to NBC station WDTN, in November 2022, Heidi Matheny, aged 35, presented herself to the Eaton Police Department and claimed to have drowned her grandma, Alice Matheny.
The day before she drowned her grandmother, Heidi Matheny allegedly took her to the doctor, where it was determined that she needed to be admitted to a care home, which Heidi Matheny said she could not afford.

She allegedly also admitted to authorities that her insurance did not pay for the expense of nursing home care for her grandma.
Before Heidi allegedly stepped behind her grandma to wash dishes and dipped her head into the water until the bubbles stopped, the two ladies allegedly enjoyed ice cream together at the old woman’s flat, according to the police.
Additionally, Heidi Matheny allegedly admitted to investigators that she transferred her grandmother to the bathtub to make sure she was deceased.
Matheny admitted to the police that she did nothing wrong. She’s not…not She’s the friggin perfect grandma.
Heidi claimed in the police interview that when her grandma passed away, she left the flat through the window and went to the police station to confess.

On December 9, 2022, Matheny came before a judge and pleaded not guilty to the murder accusation. A mental competency assessment was requested of her, and her bond was set at $500,000.
Matheny was ruled competent to stand trial by the Preble County Common Pleas Court in January, and on February 3 she altered her plea to guilty.
