Selected Americans across the country are about to receive new $300 stimulus checks before Christmas to combat inflation and to buy groceries for the holiday season.
$300 Stimulus Check
Federal and government officials are doing their best to provide different financial aid to millions of Americans across the country. This initiative was during the time of the pandemic, and now they are making another action to combat the effect of the soaring inflation rate that decreases the purchasing power of American families.
An amount of $300 will be given to the residents in Los Angeles before Christmas. The fund will come from a $1.5million pot and will benefit around 5,000 families. Moreover, the fund is set to be distributed through the GIVEN program in the Los Angeles area.
The GIVEN program is part of the Mayor’s fund. Additionally, it is a partnership between Mayor Karen Bass, the city’s Community Investment for Families Department, and its FamilySource Centers, according to a published article in The U.S. Sun.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said, “I’ve promised to work on behalf of all Angelenos—and that means making sure low-income families aren’t left behind. I’m proud that GIVEN, one of the first programs launched under my administration, will provide direct and immediate financial assistance to help brighten the holidays for families who are going through a difficult time.”
Furthermore, Los Angeles officials said that there have been six direct-cash assistance to the residents and about $50 million has been distributed since the pandemic began.
