Nevada Man Is Arrested After He Allegedly Tortures, Abandons, and Harms Animals

A man was arrested and stands after being accused of abusing, torturing, and neglecting animals after authorities reportedly found some malnourished horses and dogs living in feces-covered kennels on his property.

According to a news release from the office of Elko County Sheriff’s, an investigation was launched back on Dec. 8, 2022, after the department have receive an alerting report that a man named Jon Hickox had six horses on his property that were being neglected by their owner. The deputies reportedly responded after that report and went to the scene and there they found that one of the horses on his property was dead.

Animals On A Nevada Man’s Property Is Abused and Neglected

The Office’s Sheriff’s said that the other horses there were malnourished and in extremely poor condition due to not having any food or water for a very long period. Two of the horses there were reportedly too fragile and had to be euthanized because they were in such poor condition.

Furthermore investigation, according to the Sheriff’s Office, three more animals which are his dogs and that were found on the property of Jon Hickox, had been contained in these small wire kennels that were full of feces, and the dogs didn’t have access to water or food. The remaining animals alive were his horses and dogs were reportedly taken from the property and transferred to somewhere safe.
