Trump said during his rally in Waco, Texas that if Greene would run for Senate he will “fight like hell” for her. When Greene was asked of her reaction to Trump’s suggestion, she told NBC News that she has not talked about it with the former president. She said, “I haven’t talked with him about it, but it was so nice of him to say that at the rally!”
The next senate election for Georgia is still three years from now, a position currently held by Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff who is on his first term. When asked about his opinion, he simply said that everyone is free to run and that he will be ready. Georgia has a unique system in which candidates must win 50% to be elected, and for the past three US senate races, they have been electing Democrats. between the top two finishers.
