IRS imposes daily and monthly payment limits

IRS suggests taxpayers look for retail stores in their respective states for cash payment. Individuals need to check with concerned officials to get answers to their doubts. The payments limit is $500 per payment, and taxpayers can make two payments per day; the daily limit is $1,000. Individuals need to visit the official IRS website to know monthly and annual limits and other information regarding cash payments. The IRS customer support is also available to assist the users; IRS provides a customer care number to resolve payment issues. Taxpayers must follow the guidelines to avoid legal action.

Steps to make the cash payment

Taxpayers have to visit the ACIPayments website and proceed based on the instructions. The users will receive an email containing a payments code and further instructions; the ACIPayments will send an email post the IRS verification of the information. The taxpayers can access the code either on their smartphones or take a printout. Taxpayers then need to visit the listed retail store to complete the tax payment. The retail owner will provide a payment receipt after successful payment. IRS states that taxpayers receive the payment authentication within two business days; they need to keep the payment record for further reference.

IRS taxes individuals based on their annual income in the previous year. Taxpayers need to provide relevant information in their tax returns. The payment code is valid for 20 days; taxpayers can complete the cash payment before the code’s expiry. IRS announced the cash payment service is available in all 50 states. Taxpayers should immediately report the suspicious activities to [email protected].
