In statement, DeSantis criticizes Newsom and claims, California is “losing population” to Florida

In a statement on Sunday in California, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis attacked California Governor Gavin Newsom, claiming that residents of California are leaving the state in large numbers to settle in Florida, where they may live freely.

DeSantis highlighted that there are many issues in this area by saying, “I understood you guys had a lot of issues, but your governor is very worried regarding what we’re conducting in Florida, so I realized I had to come by.” DeSantis was speaking at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley.

DeSantis claimed Reagan “knew a great importance that government had to play” and how it might be a “negative influence if not utilized appropriately,” adding that he handled Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic with the same knowledge.

And he added, “I believe that if you go at the past 4 or 5 years and you go at the outcomes of various states, and you compare Florida to California, New York, Illinois, and a few other states, we have experienced a remarkable experiment, a great test in political philosophies. And you know, in Florida people do stuff quite differently from how you guys had out here, and very differently from how they’ve done it in New York and Illinois.
