The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said that two drivers were arrested near the border after transporting illegal immigrants.

DPS Announced Apprehension of Illegal Immigrants

The number of illegal immigrants being transported from the Southern border is one of the issues that the country is facing today. Recently, the DPS announced the apprehension of 19 illegal immigrants located in human smuggling attempts and a stash house near the Southern Border, according to FOX News.

Moreover, the DPS Criminal Investigations Division said that they received assistance from the Texas Highway Patrol and the U.S. Border Patrol to successfully apprehend the vehicles carrying the illegal immigrants. They were able to stop them in Webb County.

Vehicles Carrying the Illegal Immigrants

According to the DPS, they were able to stop and apprehend vehicles containing 15 illegal immigrants shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. They said that agents noticed something suspicious between the two vehicles in a parking lot in Laredo.

The DPS found that one vehicle contained four illegal immigrants in the rear cargo area while the other vehicle, which was stopped at the hotel, contained seven illegal immigrants. Meanwhile, the DPS troopers pursue the third vehicle that was seen leaving a suspected stash house.

The DPS Criminal Investigations Division found four more illegal immigrants inside a stash house. A total of 19 illegal immigrants were apprehended. They were from Mexico, El Salvador, and Guatamela. They are already referred to the U.S. Border Patrol.
