Hocking, Athens, and Perry Counties Launch Water Bill Assistance Program for Eligible Residents

This program offers a one-time benefit to pay for outstanding water bills, late fees, reconnection fees, sewer charges, and current and past bill amounts required to maintain service for at least 30 days.

Residents of Hocking, Athens, and Perry Counties who are struggling to pay their water bills may be eligible for assistance through the Water Bill Assistance Program

To qualify for the program, households must be income-eligible and have their water source disconnected or in the process of being disconnected. The household income must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.

To apply, applicants need to provide their current water bill, proof of income for the past 30 days, or proof of assistance through PRC, OWF, and TANF. They must also bring photo identification, a social security card, or another form of identification.

The Water Bill Assistance Program is available to income-eligible residents in Hocking, Athens, and Perry Counties

Appointments will be conducted over the phone. If you are interested in the program and live in Athens County, you can contact Amanda Sawvel at (740) 767-4500. In Hocking County, you can contact Lauren Malone at (740) 385-6813. In Perry County, you can contact Clarissa Reynolds at (740) 342-4113.
