Hansjorg Wyss Swiss Billionaire Invested $73 Million to Influence American Politics – Prior to the 2024 presidential elections, environmental groups with significant funding from a Swiss foreign person invested extensively in data mining operations that targeted millions of President Biden’s supporters.

Hansjorg Wyss: League of Conservation Voters (LCV)

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Victory Fund, LCV’s independent political action committee, and Climate Power spent $15 million last year on a “sophisticated targeting project unlike anything they’d ever undertaken” to support Democrats. The LCV and Climate Power are two well-known far-left environmental organizations that promote forceful green transition policies and have received significant money from the NGOs run by Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss.

LCV Victory Fund and Climate Power engaged BlueLabs Analytics, a data science company with headquarters in Washington, D.C., as part of the effort to mine data of more than two million Biden voters in critical swing states with mailers and commercials before the 2022 midterm elections. Given the nationality of the billionaire, the effort poses legal issues, as do other funding schemes for political activities during the 2014 midterm elections that may be connected to Hansjorg Wyss.

Federal election law prohibits foreign nationals from making direct or indirect contributions to American political campaigns (Wyss is described as a “citizen of Switzerland” as recently as 2021 in financial records).

Hansjorg Wyss Funds Tax-the-Rich Liberals in Maine

Hansjorg Wyss has donated $208 million to the Sixteen Thirty Fund since 2016, according to AP. A progressive dark money organization called the Maine People’s Alliance (MPA) has consistently been exempt from IRS regulations requiring donor disclosure. However, in recent years, the group has established numerous Ballot Question Committees (BQC).

The secretive group is compelled by Maine law to list its top five financial backers. The top donors must be made public, but not the sums. Hansjorg Wyss’ donations go through the Sixteen Thirty Fund and end up at groups like the Maine People’s Alliance, which then backs left-leaning candidates and issues.

In this approach, Hansjorg Wyss can use his wealth to exert more control over Maine’s political outcomes despite the fact that he is an outsider without the right to vote there. MPA has a history of advocating for extreme left policies that raise taxes while increasing the size and authority of the government.
