Following Mass Shooting at Club Parking Lot in NW Harris County, Deputies Report: One Dead, Multiple Injured

As per deputies, over 50 gunshots were fired at a club in northwest Harris County, leaving one person dead and 4 others hospitalized. Deputies were called to a gunshot at the Touch Lounge parking lot near FM 1960 and Greenwood Forest Drive on Sunday at around 2 a.m.

5 people—2 men and 3 women—were being taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds when officers reached. According to the investigators, one of the males passed away in the hospital from his wounds. They estimate that the victims are all in their twenties.

According to reports, a car pulled up, and several people got out and started firing at partygoers who were standing outside near a food truck. Investigators reported the use of at least one AK-47. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of Harris County was asked by ABC13 if police believed the gunshot was intentional.

“It’s a good indication that they were coming with a purpose and that they may have been targeting someone if the information that someone left a car and started firing is accurate. If there had been some sort of incident earlier inside the club that leaked over. Currently, we don’t know that,” said Gonzalez.

Family members were able to positively identify one of the murders as Amariah Pridgen, 20. Her father, Clarence Pridgen, talked directly to ABC13 and stated that he received a phone call about the shooting early on Sunday morning.

“My wife and I just woke up in a panic. It was a 4-hour drive from Louisiana, where we stay. We simply got in the car and arrived here” he explained.
