Ivermectin was regarded as a COVID-19 treatment previously in the pandemic, but now the Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance is arguing for its use to treat several other infections even with the lack of scientific evidence to support that position, according to Lauren Weber of The Washington Post. Ivermectin is part of a recommended medical therapy for COVID-19, the flu, and RSV infections, according to a page on the organization’s website.
Unsurprisingly, the CDC is not happy. The CDC does not advise ivermectin for the treatment or prevention of influenza, and there are no results from human clinical trials supporting this claim, according to Kristen Nordlund, a CDC spokesman, who talked to the Washington Post.
