Tanzania has deported one of South Africa’s most wanted fugitives, named Thabo Bester, who is known as a “Facebook rapist” and murderer who faked his own death in jail and escaped to an East African nation.
Following his arrest in Tanzania last week, Bester was transported to South Africa via a specially chartered aircraft.
Along with him when they were detained was his girlfriend, famous doctor Nandipha Magudumana, who has since been deported.
Her father is accused of assisting Bester’s jail escape.
After Bester’s death was allegedly caused by lighting himself on fire in his cell in the South African city of Bloemfontein, he remained at large for a year.
Facebook Rapist Deported in South Africa
Bester, known as the “Facebook rapist,” was shown on camera being transported away from Johannesburg’s Lanseria Airport in a police car with bars over the windows, according to state broadcaster SABC (via CBS News). At the airport, heavily armed cops placed his girlfriend, the well-known doctor Nandipha Magudumana, into a different white vehicle.
As part of the sophisticated jailbreak scheme, which required bringing a dead corpse into the facility where Bester was being held to aid in staging his own death in a fire and escaping, Magudumana was anticipated to be charged with murder.
More arrests are anticipated, according to police and representatives from the South African Ministry of Justice, who also verified Bester and Magudumana’s return to the nation.
As a result of suspicions that they assisted Bester in escaping during the pandemonium of the morning fire in his cell on May 3, 2022, three prison staff members—the night supervisor and two guards who worked in the security camera control room—were sacked.
Legislator Glynnis Breytenbach stated she believed more guards and authorities were bought off in order to get the corpse into the jail and assist Bester in escaping, even though just one was charged with murder.

Couple Found in a Mansion
After almost a year of living in a mansion with his famous doctor lover, the Facebook rapist who faked his own death to escape from a maximum-security jail was found.
South African Police Minister Bheki Cele mentioned in a New York Post report that the Facebook rapist and Maguduman had various passports and planned to enter Kenya.
Magudumana was anticipating a murder accusation due to a complex jailbreak scheme that entailed transporting a dead corpse into Bester’s cell and lighting a fire to give the impression that the prisoner had passed away so that he might escape.
Magudumana is a well-known doctor and entrepreneur with over 146,000 followers on Instagram. The glamorous doctor was recognized as one of the 200 Young South Africans by the Mail & Guardian in 2018.
