Extra CalFresh Benefits: How Much Can You Expect In February And When You’ll Receive Them

Since March 2020, all eligible CalFresh households have received monthly emergency allotments. If you have not yet received your CalFresh Emergency Allotments for the months of November, December 2022, or January 2023, they will be distributed on February 2023.

In March 2023, the final Emergency Allotment (for February 2023) will be issued. CalFresh Emergency Allotments are being phased out as a result of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, which prohibits the distribution of CalFresh Emergency Allotments to households in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

• Households eligible for the maximum allowable allotment based on household size are now eligible for a $95 per month emergency allotment.
• Households that are not eligible for the maximum allowable allotment based on household size, but whose emergency allotment is less than $95 per month when increased to the maximum for their household size, will be eligible for additional CalFresh benefits to bring their emergency allotment up to the new $95 minimum.
• When benefits are increased to the maximum for their household size, households eligible for more than $95 per month will continue to receive that amount.
• These additional benefits will expire in February 2023, with the final Emergency Allotment issued in March 2023.

Emergency allotments will be distributed to eligible CalFresh households from March 2020 to February 2023, as scheduled below. Emergency allotments will be phased out in February 2023.
