Here is the first trailer for the Exception sci-fi anime horror series on Netflix, which premieres on October 13. The space saga will feature music by Academy Award winner Ryuichi Sakamoto, according to news that just broke.
The official synopsis for the series reads: “In the far future, humanity has been driven from Earth and forced to move its population to another galaxy. Members of a scouting team are sent to search for a planet suitable for terraforming. The crew was created through a biological 3D printer, but a system malfunction causes one of the crew members, Lewis, to emerge in a deformed state. As Lewis turns on his fellow crew members Nina, Mack, Patty, and Oscar, a countdown to the end of the mission begins in the frightening darkness of the ship.”
Nolan North and Chikahiro Kobayashi play Lewis and Mack, respectively, while Ali Hillis and Yuko Kaida play Nina, Eugene Byrd and Takanori Hoshino play Oscar and Nadine Nicole and Atsumi Tanezaki play Patty.
The original screenplay was written by Hirotaka Adachi, and Yuzo Sato directed the film. Character creation was overseen by Yoshitaka Amano.
According to Netflix, the series will premiere on October 13 worldwide.
