Billionaire Richard Branson stated in a recent interview with The Sunday Times that he received a surprise visit from Elon Musk and his newborn son, X A-12, the night of his first flight with his space exploration business, Virgin Galactic.
Branson recalled the early morning hours of July 11, 2021, which he believes to have been at 2:30 a.m., saying, “I woke up 2 hours earlier than I was meant to and rushed out of bed, and then immediately recognized I’d got the wrong time, but by that time I was fully awake.”
Branson was present at the time, at his house in New Mexico.
Branson claimed that when he awoke, he went to the kitchen to see a shoeless Musk holding his son, who had “chosen to surprise” him by wishing him luck on the journey.
“He is a night animal. He primarily sleeps throughout the day and doesn’t sleep at night” Richardson stated. We prepared some tea and talked while relaxing outside underneath the stars.
The millionaires recorded their chance meeting on Twitter, which Musk later bought less than a year later.
Musk stayed at the launchpad to show his support when Branson’s plane landed down.
In addition, Branson described Musk as “tremendously smart and even more motivated,” comparing him to “the Henry Ford of his generation.”
