Malia Obama will continue to work for Donald Glover. Glover disclosed that his recently founded film studio, Gilga, is working on a short movie with Malia Obama, the oldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama, as part of an upcoming GQ feature story on the “Atlanta” creator. Malia is “making” the short film, according to GQ. The project’s director, Malia, is yet to be decided.
Malia has so far collaborated with Glover in the writing room of his popular Amazon Prime Video series “Swarm,” which launched on the streaming app on March 17.
The sixth episode of the program, “Girl Bye,” was written by Malia and co-created by Janine Nabers.
Glover discussed how he is guiding Malia in the media industry as part of the GQ cover. “We began by discussing the idea that she will be given this opportunity once,” according to Glover. “You are Obama’s child. Hence, a poor film will haunt you forever.”
