$1,500 Direct Payment Deadline, Extended

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy extended the State’s Property Tax Program earlier this year. Unlike in the past, renters are now included in the program. The ANCHOR-Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters, property tax relief program will raise more than $ 2 billion for fiscal 2023, and began on the 1st day of July. Notably, December 30-January 31 of 2023 is the extended date to claim the assistance.

According to a published post by The US Sun, these are the amounts to receive and the qualification criteria:

The quantity of payment will depend on the income of the uneligible or qualified resident. According to the New Jersey Department of Treasury, the following batches of people are qualified for certain amounts.

– $1,500 for Homeowners who make $150,000 income.

– $1,000 for Homeowners who make $150,000-$250,000 income.

– $450 for renters with $150,000 income.

Note: Apart from income, you must own or rent a house as of October 1, 2019, and will be exempt from State Taxes. By the end of next month, applications must be submitted online thru mail or phone. Cash will go out starting late spring, all payments will be sent by check/direct debit.

Other Money Available

Resiliency fund 2.0 program for the City of Chicago, providing qualified residents with $500 relief checks. To qualify, Chicago residents must be 18 years old or older and have an income below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level and can apply up until the 31st day of December at 5 pm.

For Tax Rebate, Idaho will pay $300-$600 or 10% of the resident’s 2020 income tax. And must be a full-time resident of Idaho in 2020 and 2021 and have filed an Idaho personal income tax return or Form 24 and must submit 2021 tax returns by Dec. 31 to claim the rebate.

Pennsylvania also has a program for 65-year-olds, widows/widowers over 50, and with disabilities. The income limit is $35,000/ $15,000 annually for homeowners/renters, respectively. Rebates, including one-time bonuses, are up to $1,657.50 for 2021. The resident must apply by December 31 to be eligible.
