Date A Live Season 4 is confirmed to be released in April 2022 as revealed from its new trailer. Previously, it was scheduled to start in October 2021 but was moved to this year’s spring season. The teaser showed returning and additional cast members, and the opening and ending themes for the upcoming season.
In an article published on crunchyroll.com, the returning cast members include Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shido Itsuka, Marina Inoue as Tohka Yatogami, Misuzu Togashi as Origami Tobiichi, Ayana Taketatsu as Kotori Itsuka, Iori Nomizu as Yoshino, Asami Sanada as Kurumi Tokisaki, Maaya Uchida as Kaguya Yamai, Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Yuzuru Yamai, Minori Chihara as Miku Izayoi, and Ayumi Mano as Natsumi.
In different news by AnimeNewsNetwork, returning with the cast is Jun Nakagawa, directing the series at Geek Toys. Nakagawa directed the Date A Bullet anime films. Moreover, the series will once again have Naoto Nakamura as the character designer, and Go Sakobe as the music composer. Sakboe was the same composer for the first three seasons of the series. As for the script supervision, Fumihiko Shimo is assigned.
On the other hand, new cast members include Hitomi Nabatame as Nia Honjo, and Akari Kageyama as Mukuro Hoshimiya. Additionally, the opening theme song. “OveR” will be performed by Miyu Tomita whereas the ending theme song, “S.O.S.”, will be performed by sweet ARMS.
Background of Date A Live Season 4
Kadokawa Shoten was the creator of the Date A Live series. In 2019, he announced that the series will get a new anime franchise. Later on, the fourth season was revealed in March 2020.
Furthermore, Koshi Tachibana launched the light novel series of Date A Live back in March 2011. These had illustrations made by Tsunako. Afterwards, Fantasia Bunko, with Kadokawa, imprint-published the series’ 22nd and final volume in March 2020. The English version, contrarily, will be released by Yen Press.
Brief description of Date A Live
According to Crunchyroll, a broadcaster of the first three seasons of Date A Live, the anime revolves around a high school boy, Shido Itsuka. He discovered a mysterious girl at ground zero from a spacequake that recently occurred.
Shido found out from his sister, Kotori Istuka, that the girl belongs to the musical creatures or spirits that cause spacequakes. The schoolboy, then, was recruited to end the threats caused by spirits by making the girl fall in love with a human.
