A lawyer recently said that a forensic psychiatrist is expected to evaluate Lindsay Clancy, a Duxbury mother suspected of murdering her three children last month.
But Clancy’s lawyer said the Massachusetts mother was overmedicated on 12 prescription medicines, which “turned her into a zombie” and giving her violent impulses.
Kevin Reddington, Clancy’s defense lawyer, told Fox News Digital that the judge had approved their motion after Friday’s impromptu court hearing.
Reddington also told Boston Globe that Clancy had been overmedicated with drugs before strangling her kids to death.
He informed the news organization that he engaged a toxicologist to examine the several prescriptions’ dosage amounts, frequency, and interactions.
Clancy Killing: Mom’s Drugs Made Her a Zombie
The lawyer said in a New York Post report that Lindsay received 12 prescriptions for drugs between October of last year and January.
Reddington named nine: including trazodone, also known by its generic name, as well as zolpidem (Ambien), clonazepam (Klonopin), diazepam (Valium), fluoxetine (Prozac), lamotrigine (Lamictil), lorazepam (Ativan), mirtazapine (Remeron), and quetiapine fumarate (Seroquel).
Several medications are used to treat mood disorders such depression, panic attacks, anxiety, and others.
The Duxbury mother of three and former labor and delivery nurse is allegedly recovering from an attempt on her own life while facing at least eight criminal charges, including two for murder, three for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and three more for strangling.

Mom Kills Children Before Attempting Suicide
Clancy, 32, reportedly killed her children before jumping out of her Duxbury home’s window while she was on vacation from her job as a labor and delivery nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said Clancy’s husband, Patrick, made a police call. on January 24, at around 6:10 p.m., following Lindsay’s leap.
Lindsay routinely posted pictures of her happy family on social media, giving the impression that her life was picture-perfect.
However, the Boston Globe said that Lindsay also discussed her struggle with postpartum anxiety in other entries that were not yet publicly visible on her Facebook page.
