California tax filing deadline for federal and state business and individual tax returns and payments is moved to October 16, as The Franchise Tax Board announced. The IRS also revealed that most 2022 business and individual returns were originally due on March 15 and April 18, and returns of tax-exempt organizations due on May 15 will be extended in some counties.
The deadlines were extended due to storms, wildfires, and flood damage last year. Taxpayers who suffered a financial loss to storm damages are qualified to claim those losses on their tax returns.
